In accordance with the adopted Intervention Measure Act on Deferred Payments of Borrowers' Obligations (Zakon o interventnem ukrepu odloga plačila obveznosti kreditojemalcev, hereinafter ZIUOPOK), published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia (UL RS 36/2020) on 28 March 2020, borrowers are provided an opportunity to defer payment of obligations arising from their loan agreements.
ZIUOPOK stipulates that a bank shall enable a deferred payment of loan obligations for a period of up to 12 months in accordance with the provisions of the law to legal and private persons, who have been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic and meet requirements defined by the law, if the obligations from the loan agreements for which the borrower requests a deferral of payment have not yet been due before the virus epidemic was declared.
According to the law, borrowers will be able to apply for payment deferral up to 6 months from the date of the cancellation of the epidemic.
At UniCredit Banka Slovenia d.d. we have immediately begun preparing for the implementation of the law.
In order to ensure both your safety and the safety of our employees we aim to enable a process where no bank visit will be required. To do so, we are developing a dedicated online solution for you to apply for payment deferral.
The web platform will be available in the coming days and for this reason we do recommend you to wait and avoid unnecessary visit to the bank in person. At the same time, we would like to emphasize that there is no need to hurry to file an application, as the bank will consider each application received and to approve the deferral of payment arising from the loan agreement if the conditions in accordance with the provisions of ZIUOPOK are met.
